After high school she served in the United States Air Force. Bonnie was a graduate of Kent State Tuscarawas Campus with an AA in Criminal Justice and later in life she enjoyed a successful career as a tax consultant at H&R Block.
Bonnie raised her son, Vince “Bink” Ravine as a single mother until he was nine when she married Stanley Ravine of New Philadelphia in 1972. Bonnie also helped Stanley raise his three children - Jan (Howie) Mann, Angie Ravine, and Chris (Dawn) Ravine - and loved them as her own. The greatest joy of her life was her years caring for her grandchildren, Jordan, Zachary, Brandon, Nathan and Meghan. She will always be loved and admired by her children and grandchildren.
Bonnie lived her life serving and caring for others. Her deep abiding faith in the goodness of people and our world was a beacon to those around her. Besides helping family and friends, she volunteered for many years as secretary of Sacred Heart School in New Philadelphia and was active in Mother’s Club of Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School. She was a strong and positive person even through her illness. She had the wonderful ability to lift everyone’s spirit with a kind and supportive word. She was a shining example of her ‘loving kindness’ way of life.
Bonnie loved her shopping and loved to travel. Last year despite her declining health she and her sisters toured Ireland to fulfill a lifelong dream.
In addition to her children and grandchildren Bonnie is survived by her siblings Jennifer (Jim) Dunn of Columbus OH, Robert G. (Karen) West, Jr. of Phoenix AZ, Jewel (Frank) Weems of Loving NM, Debbie (Mark) Littel of Arlington TX, Joey West of Newark OH, and Ginny (Bernie) Fitzsimmons of Lauren SC-and wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and extended families. Bonnie’s faithful companion Rowdy survives her and has been lovingly adopted by her great friend Ann (Harley) Mauer.
