Carroll County Jr. Fair 2013

Consumers National Bank, Hamilton Insurance Agency, and Praxair wants you to support the kids in 4H, FFA, and Boys & Girls Scouts by coming to the auctions during the Carroll County Fair July 16th thru 21st.

The first auction will be the Still Project Auction at the Rosebud Mining Complex, on the fargrounds, on Wednesday (July 17th) at 6:30p.  This auction features items that were made by 4H kids, F.F.A. members, and Boy and Girl Scouts.  Mike & Don Lozier, and Leroy Vanhorne will be auctioning off these great items.  In past years they have sold refinished antique furniture, decorative and craft items, wooden wishing wells, flower boxes, metal yard ornaments, and a host of other items.  Proceeds of the auction go back to the kids as a reward for all of their hard work thru the year on their projects.

Then on Friday (July19th) starting at 6pm the Large Animal Sale will start.  The Junior Fair will showcase in order:

Market Hogs, Dairy Beef Feeders, Market Lambs, Dairy Product Baskets, & Market Steers.

It’s easy to participate in the Large Animal Sale.  Just come to Friday’s sale, register, get your bidding number, and be the highest bidder.  After you have won, the Carroll County Jr. Fair gives you a slip to fill out, you pick what processor you want to process your animal, and the Jr. Fair handles the shipping.  Just call the processor and they fix up the order they way you want.  (Information on processors is on the processing sheet that they give you).  Then you stop by the plant and pick it up.  It’s that simple.

On Saturday (July 20th) starting at 1:30pm is the Small Animal Sale.  The Junior Fair will showcase in order:

Market Turkeys, Market Goats, Market Rabbits, & Market Chickens.

It’s easy to participate in the Small Animal Sale.  Just come to Saturday’s sale, register, get your bidding number, and be the highest bidder.

If you purchase the Grand or Reserve Champion Steer, Market Hog, Market Goat, or a Market Lamb, it has to go directly to slaughter and must be slaughtered either at Kiko Meats, Jim’s Custom Cuts Meats, or Don’s Custom Meats.  All other animals can be processed at the buyers preference.

You can also decide to sell the animal you purchased at the Carrollton Livestock Auction Barn.  The Carrollton Livestock Auction Barn will pick-up your animal, transport it, and then sell it.  You receive the money it brings minus the auctions commission.

If you purchase hogs, dairy beef feeders, or steers, you can donate the animal to the charity Farmers and Hunters Feed the Hungry. The animals will then go to slaughter and the meat goes to feed the hungry.

SPECIAL THANKS TO AUCTIONEERS MIKE LOZIER, BILL NEWELL, KIKO AUCTIONEERS & ASSOCIATES, AND WAYNE FALB.
