​Fannie J. Barkman



Fannie J. Barkman, 75, of 4887 SR 557 Millersburg died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at her residence after a period of declining health.  She was born September 18, 1938 in Holmes County to the late Jacob D.D. and Mary Ann (Miller) Yoder. 
 
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
 
She is survived by her husband  Melvin A. Barkman whom she married April 30, 1959; a son and 3 daughters Mary Ann (Paul) Shetler of Millersburg, Esther (John S.) Miller of the home, Robert (Betty) Barkman and Mabel (Vernon) Weaver both of Millersburg, 25 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 step sisters; Mary Ann (Jacob J.) Miller of Fredericksburg, Martha (David) Hershberger of Holmesville and Katie (Emanuel) Hershberger of Fredericksburg. 
 
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step mother Fannie Yoder and 1 great grandchild Erica Joy. 
 
Services will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 9:00 AM at the Barkman Residence with Bishop John B. Yoder officiating.  Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery in Clark Twp., Holmes County.  Friends may call anytime at the residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
