Rudolph J. Hren



Verna M. Hren, 91, of Uhrichsville, passed away at her home on Thursday, November 14, 2013, after a period of declining health. Born December 25, 1921 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Bessie O. (Patterson) Humrighouse.
 
A lifelong resident of the Twin City area, Verna was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1939 before attending Canton Actual Business College. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who will be deeply missed by her family. Verna was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison and was very active within her parish having volunteered countless hours at the parish clothing store and school over the years. She also volunteered at the Twin City Christian Service Center for which she was honored with a Citizenship Award a number of years ago.
 
On May 10, 1941, she married Rudolph J. Hren with whom she enjoyed over thirty-seven years of marriage until his passing on July 15, 1978. They are survived by their nine children, Gregory, Roger, David, John, Paul, Janet, Thomas, Jeanne and Anthony Hren; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A son, Darrell, and a daughter, Sharla, preceded them in death, and Verna was also preceded in death by her twin brothers, Harry and Roy Humrighouse.
 
Services for Verna, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. In keeping with her wishes, no public visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Twin City Christian Service Center, P.O. Box 47, Dennison, OH  44621 and the Tuscarawas County Humane Society Cat Shelter, 829 Union Ave., Dover, OH  44622.
