March 7-April 11 Fish Dinner
The Church Of The Holy Trinity will be serving fish dinners each Friday March 7-April 11 during Lent. Meal includes fish, choice of french fries, rice, or mac-n-cheese, slaw, roll, coffee or punch. Desserts and soft drinks are available at a nominal price. Carry out is available. Church Of The Holy Trinity is located at 1835 Dover-Zoar Rd. in Bolivar.
March 8 Swap Meet

March 8 Steak Fry
The Claymont Foundation will be hosting their annual Reverse Raffle Steak Fry on Saturday March 8th at the American Italian Club in Dennison from 5-9pm. Donation of $50 includes your drawdown raffle ticket and a delicious steak dinner. Additional steak dinners are available for $20. A silent auction will also be held throughout the evening. March 8 Golf Outing
Trumpet In The Land’s 14th Annual “Chili Open Golf Classic” sponsored by Wendy’s of Tuscarawas County will be held on March 8th at green Valley Golf Course in New Phila. Entry fee is $17 per person. March 8 Pancake Fundraiser
Boy Scout Troop 94 of Dover will be having a pancake fundraiser at Applebees in New Phila on Saturday March 8th from 8-10am. Proceeds will go towards summer camp and a high adventure trip to New Mexico this summer. Cost is $6 for adults and $5 for children under 10. Contact 330-440-9438 for more information.
March 8 Spaghetti Dinner
Zoar Volunteer Fire Dept. will be holding an all you can eat Spaghetti Dinner featuring their famous 4-Alarm Hot Sauce. The event will be on Saturday March 8th from 4-8pm. at the Fire Station located at 190 East 5th St. in Zoar. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. All carryout dinners are $8 and you can call ahead for carryout by calling 330-874-2069.
March 9 Luncheon
The Gnadenhutten Lions Club will be holding a “Soup and Potato” luncheon on Sunday, March 9th from 11am-2pm, at the Masonic Temple in Gnadenhutten. Each meal will include a Baked Potato with all the toppings and your choice of Soup. Also available will be a selection of desserts, a 50/50 drawing and a silent auction.

Tuscarawas PERI Chapter (Public Employee Retirees Inc.) will meet March 12th at noon at Shoney’s in Dover.
March 14 Health Screen
On Friday, March 14th, Trinity Hospital Twin City’s Community Outreach Dept. will host a health screen from 7:30-11:30am at Mako’s Market in Uhrichsville. Free blood pressure checks will be available, and blood tests to measure total cholesterol and glucose levels will be available for $10. No appointment is necessary. March 15 Swap Meet
The 8th Annual Baltic Fisherman’s Swap Meet will held on Saturday March 15th from 10am-3pm at Baltic Elementary School, 300 East Main St. Admission is free, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to take a kid fishing. For more information you can call 330-407-8729.
March 15 Soup Supper

March 15 Pancake Breakfast
Dundee Fire Dept. 7899 will be having an all you can eat pancake and sausage breakfast on March 15th from 7-11am. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, milk, orange juice, applesauce, fruit cocktail and pasties. There will be a Free Will Donation and all proceeds go to help buy equipement for the fire dept.
March 15 Soap Box Derby
The Tuscarawas County Soap Box Derby will hold their registration for the 2014 race on Saturday, March 15th from 9am until noon at Wabash Lanes in New Philadelphia. This year’s race will be held on Sunday, June 22nd. The Soap Box Derby is open to boys and girls ages 7-18. For more information on registering you can call 330-407-7580.
March 15 Benefit
A Benefit and Silent Auction to help defray medical expenses for Kevin Storck is being hosted by Christ United Methodist Church, 648 Oak St. in Newcomerstown. The event includes dinner consisting of chicken, potato, salad, green beans, roll, drinks and dessert. Cost is $8 for adults, and children 12 and under is $5. Spaghetti Dinner Benefit for Logan Martin April 5th 5-8PM at Dover High School
Logan Martin is a 17 year old Dover High School senior that has been a patient at the Cleveland Clinic for the past several weeks and is now in need of a heart transplant. He was recently diagnosed with a congenital heart condition after a recent illness. The condition is called Left Ventricular Noncompacted Cardiomyopathy. The medications used to treat this are not working as they should, so Logan is now in need of a heart. He is the son of Debra Limbacher Edwards and John Martin, and big brother to Emili Edwards. In order to offset the costs of treatment and everything this family is facing, Logan's extended family and friends are looking for help from fellow community members. The cost will be $8 for adults, $4 for kids and younger than 3 are free. There will be silent auction items and T-shirts available as well. The Dover High School Guidance Office is pleased to announce that applications for the Bernhard-Wentsz Scholarship are now available in the High School Guidance Office between the hours of 7:30 and 3:30 weekdays. The scholarship will be awarded to eligible graduating seniors or former graduates of Dover High School. Funds for this scholarship were left to the Dover City School District by A.J. “Patsy” Bernhard of Dover, who died January 25, 1988. Scholarship deadline is June 2, 2014.
Ongoing TFN Plat Books Available
The Tuscarawas County office of Ohio State University Extension has plat books available for purchase at the office, Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm in New Philadelphia. The cost is $15 per book and proceeds benefit the 4-H program.
