April 18 Craft & Bake Sale
Trinity Hospital Twin City Volunteer Auxiliary will host this on Friday, April 18th from 9 am – 1 pm near the hospital’s main entrance 819 N First St and also at the First National Bank of Dennison at 105 Grant St. The sales will feature delicious baked items and beautiful crafts suitable for decorating or using as gifts for Easter and other special occasions. April 19 Community Easter Egg Hunt
There will be a community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19th from Noon – 2 pm @ the Dennison Park. There will be 4 age groups so all of the children will have a chance. This is open to kids 12 & under in the community. Dennison Eagles #582 is the primary sponsor of this event. The Easter Bunny will be there also!
April 19 Swiss Steak Dinner
Beach City American Legion Hall Post 549 at 125 3rd Ave NE, Beach City is having their “All-You-Can-Eat” Swiss Steak Dinner on Saturday, April 19, from 4 pm -7 pm. Meal includes
3-bean salad, applesauce, mashed potatoes/homemade gravy, corn, bread, dessert and beverage.

April 19 Easter Egg Hunt & Activities

April 19 Breakfast With The Easter Bunny
There will be an all you can eat Pancake Breakfast at the Zoar Volunteer Fire Dept. on Saturday April 19th from 7-11am. *Have Breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 9-11am* The all you can eat breakfast is just $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12. There will be a “Special Surprise” for all children so bring a camera get a picture with the Bunny.
April 19 Easter Egg Hunt
The Fairfield Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. will be having their 1st Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Spaghetti Supper on Saturday April 19th at the fire station in Somerdale. The Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 2:00 for children ages 3-12 (rain or shine). The Spaghetti Dinner will be served from 4-7pm. The menu includes: All you can eat spaghetti with meat sauce, Fairfield’s famous salad bar (featuring over 50 delicious items), bread, beverage and dessert. The cost of the dinner is $8 for adults, children 4-12 is $4 and children 3 and under are free. You can also get the salad bar only for $5. Carry out is available. All proceeds benefit the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Dept.

St Peter’s Lutheran Church on Oldtown Valley Rd, New Philadelphia will hold their Easter Sunrise Services Sunday, April 20th @ 7 am on the Mizer Farm Hill. Following the service there will be a light continental breakfast served back at the church. Everyone is welcome to attend.

April 20 Easter Sunrise Service
An Easter Sunrise Service, a custom as old as the recorded history of Tuscarawas County, will be conducted at Schoenbrunn Villiage State Memorial. This years’ service will begin at 6:30am on Easter morning and is open to the public. An Easter breakfast will be served following the worship service at 7:00am at Schoenbrunn Moravian Church, 2200 East High Ave. in New Phila.
April 22 Hemoglobin A1C Test
Union Hospital’s Dept of Community Health & Wellness will conduct a Hemoglobin A1C test
Tuesday, April 22nd from 9 am – Noon at the Swiss Village Bulk Food Store located at 309 S. Broadway, Sugarcreek. Cost: $5.00. *An appointment is necessary* (Walk-ins will be welcome if space is available) you do not have to fast. A hemoglobin A1C test gives you a picture of your average blood glucose control for the past 2-3 months. The result gives you a good idea of how well your diabetes treatment plan is working. April 24 Oldtown Feast & Fellowship Dinner
St Peter’s Lutheran Church on Oldtown Valley Rd, New Philadelphia will hold it’s monthly Oldtown Feast & Fellowship Dinner Thursday, April 24th from 4:30 pm - ? Great food and desserts! Everyone is welcome to attend! Please join them! There is no charge for the dinners, however, if you feel the need, a freewill offering will be accepted. All donations received will be used for Community Mission Work and the local Food Bank Programs. Dinners will be held the 4th Thursday of each month – January thru October.
April 24 Northside Preschool Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction

April 25 Blood Drive
There will be a Lifeshare Blood Drive at Conotton Valley High School on April 25th from 11:30am-3:30pm. All donations benefit the Senior Class Scholarships. This is the last Blood Drive for the 2014 school year.
April 25 Community Health Screening
Union Hospital will bring a community health screening to the New Philadelphia Goodwill store on Friday, April 25th from 9 am – 11 am. The store is located at 260 Bluebell Dr, New Philadelphia. Participants will have the opportunity to have finger stick screening tests for blood glucose and total blood cholesterol. Blood pressure and health information will also be available. Fasting for these screening tests is optional. Participants will also have the opportunity to have an instant lipid panel analysis. The lipid panel includes LDL (bad cholesterol), HDL (good cholesterol), triglycerides and total cholesterol. This is a finger stick test and results are available to the participant after 5 minutes. *12 hours fasting is recommended for accurate results* No appointment is necessary, but participants will be required to register and be seen in order of registration. The public is welcome! ALL of the screening tests are FREE exception of the lipid panel, which is $9.00. April 26 Ice Cream Social
The Blue Ridge Grange will be hosting an Ice Cream Social on Saturday, April 26th at 4:30 pm.

April 26 A Taste of Tuscarawas Valley
Tusky Valley Music Booseters will sponsor the 5th annual “A Taste of Tuscarawas Valley” to be held at the TV Middle School on Saturday, April 26th from 6 pm – 8 pm. This event follows a “Taste of the Town” format & will feature signature dishes from local restaurants/vendors. So far the list includes: Canal Street Diner, Texas Roadhouse, Biscotti from the Bunch, Campesino’s Grill, Island Palm Winery, The Pampered Chef, Bolivar Giant Eagle, Zoar Market and McDonald’s, just to name a few. Tickets are $12.00 in advance & $17.00 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased from any TV Band member @ the TV High School office, 2637 Tusky Valley Road, Zoarville from 7:30 am – 2:30 pm. This event is limited to 200 tickets; which sold out last year. Single admission provides access to sample all of the participant’s dishes. Guests will vote for the coveted “People’s Choice Award” and be entertained by the fine musicians in the TV band. A 50/50 drawing and raffles will also be held. April 26 Steak Fry
Trinity Hospital Twin City Employee Auxiliary will host a steak fry Saturday, April 26th from 5 pm – 7 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 122 Grant St in Dennison. There will be music entertainment provided by a DJ at 7 pm and a Chinese Auction including “themed baskets”. A 50/50 drawing will also take place throughout the evening. Tickets are available from any Employee Auxiliary member through Thursday, April 24th. Cost: $18.00 per person. Carryout meals will also be available. April 26 Steak Fry
The Mineral City American Legion is having a steak fry on Saturday, April 26th from 4 pm - 7 pm at Slutz’s Park on 4298 Dover Zoar Road, Mineral City. Cost: $14.00/Adults & $4.00/kids. The dinner helps support the packages to Troops and helps support the American Legion.

Schoenbrunn Moravian Church will host a Pancake and Sausage Breakfast the 1st Saturday of the month, Nov-May from 8-11am. The Dover High School Guidance Office is pleased to announce that applications for the Bernhard-Wentsz Scholarship are now available in the High School Guidance Office between the hours of 7:30 and 3:30 weekdays. The scholarship will be awarded to eligible graduating seniors or former graduates of Dover High School. Funds for this scholarship were left to the Dover City School District by A.J. “Patsy” Bernhard of Dover, who died January 25, 1988. Scholarship deadline is June 2, 2014.
Ongoing TFN Plat Books Available
The Tuscarawas County office of Ohio State University Extension has plat books available for purchase at the office, Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm in New Philadelphia. The cost is $15 per book and proceeds benefit the 4-H program.
