William was employed at the Tuscarawas County Road and Bridge Department for 23 years. He was a lifelong resident of the area. William was a former member of the Dennison Eagles and the Uhrichsville Moose. He enjoyed working on cars and tractors, gardening, taking care of his animals on the farm and playing solitaire.
In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his children Michael E. Crabtree, Jack Johnson, R. June Albright; late wife Clara M. Myers Johnson Crabtree; brothers Clarence and Glenn Crabtree and sisters Mary Burrier and Elizabeth Crabtree.
On February 17, 1994, William married Debra G. (Rollins) Crabtree, who survives of the home. Also surviving are his children John (and wife) Johnson of Dennison, Lester “Rick” Lucas Jr. of Uhrichsville and Beth (Jeremy) Thompson of Massillon; his grandchildren Derek (Jeannie) Albright of New Philadelphia, Michael (Anne) Crabtree of New Philadelphia, Amanda (Brad) Bierhorst of Dover, Travis (Nici) Crabtree of Sandusky, Kendyl Rossiter of Massillon, Brandon, Austin and Sebastian Thompson of Massillon, Dylan Garvin of Massillon; 8 great grandchildren; sister Mildred Thompson of Mineral City; brother Joseph A. Crabtree of Grand Juction, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with “Crabby’s” wishes, no calling hours or services will be observed. A small private family gathering will take place at the home.
