He was a retired farmer and did upholstery work for 25 years. He was ordained a Minister in the Old Order Amish Church on May 6, 1979.
He is survived by his wife the former Amanda Yoder whom he married November 15, 1951. Also surviving are his children Albert (Ruth) Yoder of Millersburg, Ada (Ervin) Beachy of Baltic, Ivan (Mary Esther) Yoder of Millersburg, Susie (Ivan) Schlabach of Fresno and Eli (Dorothy) Yoder of the home; 30 grandchildren and 70 great grandchildren; brothers Abe (Mattie) Yoder of Millersburg, Roman (Mary) Yoder of Baltic; sisters Mary Ann Miller of Sugarcreek, Ada (Ammon) Raber of Flat Rock, Ill., Mattie (Mose) Miller of Millersburg and Lydia Ann (Noah) Miller of Sugarcreek; brother-in-law Abe (Lovina) Raber of Baltic; sisters-in-law Fannie Yoder and Lizzie Yoder both of Baltic.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Miriam Yoder, sisters Fannie, Susie, Dena and Sarah and brothers John, Eli, Mose and Emanuel.
Funeral services will be held Friday May 24, 2013 at 9:00 AM in the Yoder residence. Bishop Wayne Shetler will officiate and burial will follow in Yoder Cemetery in Berlin Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the residence. The Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling the arrangements.
