She is preceded in death by her sister Helen Ortez; husband, Donald Lappin; grandson, Michael Pool and beloved daughter, Cheryl Pool.
She is survived by her daughters, Valerie (Al) Rolland of Wadsworth and Beth Lappin of Canton; sister and best friend, Beverly (Paul) Konovsky of Canton; brother, Bill Glasgo of Florida; granddaughters, Natalie (Jeff) Tudas of Columbus and Tiffany Jackson of Canal Fulton; great grandchildren, Joe Hopps, Sarah Williams, Alaura Horst, Christian Jackson and Leo Tudas; nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Dorothy was a graduate of Timken High School and was a longtime member of Church of the Lakes and belonged to the church choir as well as being a member of "Chorus for a Cause". She was also a member of P.T. Boatels Inc. Her favorite things to do were playing bridge with her sister, singing in the choirs and most of all spending time with her family. Dorothy was a very special lady who called herself a tough old broad from good stock. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel from 6 to 8pm and on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in the Church of the Lakes, 5944 Fulton Dr. Canton, Ohio 44718 from 10 to 11am with funeral service to follow at 11:00am with the Rev. Leslie Piene officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Chorus for a Cause, 2624 19th St. NW Canton, Ohio 44708.
