Claudia was employed in day care for many years, and also worked in group homes as well. While living in Winter Haven, Florida, she served as a Wal-Mart greeter.
She was born September 24, 1943 in Dover, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Clyde Dean and Katharine I. Dutton Shaffer.
Claudia was a graduate of the former Midvale High School in 1962, and was a member of the First Baptist Church at Dover. She was fond of traveling, particularly by train. She was always fascinated by rocks and stones, and had a penchant for bold colors and turquoise jewelry. Her favorite pastime was tending to her back yard, which she decorated with stones and statues, thus creating what she called her "Enchanted Forest" off of her back patio.
She is survived by a son and two daughters Kyle (Denise) Dalcoma of New Philadelphia, Mrs. Herb (Joell) Hatfield of Minerva, O., and Mrs. Joe (Shellareen) Glaserman of Mineral City, O., her two sisters Mrs. Dode (Hazel) Overton of Atwood Lake, O., and Mrs. Terry (Marjorie) Turvey of Glen Allen, Virginia. Four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews completes the family.
