After graduating from Glade Valley High School, she moved to Baltimore and began working for the Glenn L. Martin Airplane Factory, where she was employed during World War II. She worked for the Chesapeake Potomac Telephone Company in Baltimore until she transferred to Columbus, Ohio and worked for Bell Telephone for over 37 years. Sallie was a former member of Faith Lutheran Church and later joined Messiah Lutheran Church in Salisbury.
In addition to her parents she preceded in death by brothers, Claude D. Woodie and Benny Earl Woodie.
Survivors include brother, Frank G. Woodie of Rye, New Hampshire; sisters, Kathryn Fox of Cape Cod, MA and Isabelle Kasavan of Claremont, CA; 6 nieces, 9 nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Fresno, Ohio on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11 am.
