James V. Lamitina, Jr.

James V. Lamitina, Jr. 65, of Bolivar, died Thursday August 29, 2013 at 4:45 PM in Woodlawn Compassionate Care at Canton after an apparent heart attack. Born November 19, 1947 he was a son of the late James V. and Virginia (Grenninger) Lamitina, Sr.

He retired in November 2009 from the Babcock and Wilcox Company at Barberton after 38 years. He was a member of the Bolivar Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed mushroom hunting and vacations with his family where he enjoyed fishing and crabbing at the ocean.

He is survived by his wife the former Cheryl Kelley whom he married August 17, 1968. Also surviving are a son James Lamitina of Canton and his companion Tina Metcalf, a daughter Jill A. Breining of Canton, 3 grandchildren Brian Breining II, John Metcalf and Shelton Metcalf, a brother Philip (Debra) Lamitina of Bolivar, a sister in law Brenda Lamitina of New Philadelphia, nieces and nephews Scott and Sheila, Kristy and Tara, Jonathon, several great nieces and nephews and Ali, his furry little friend.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Russell Lamitina.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Lebold-Smith Funeral Home at 248 Park Ave. Bolivar, Ohio. Pastor Steve Gerig and Pastor Bill Hardy will officiate and burial will follow in Fort Laurens Cemetery at Bolivar. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
