He retired after working several years at Luther's Builders Supply in Cadiz and several other places doing all types of construction work. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Cadiz where he served as a trustee. He was a lover of music, both writing and playing.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents; by his first wife, Janet VanFossen Moore; his second wife, Marianne Garrett Moore; a sister, Gladys Fogle and a great grandson, Ross Ian Mackie.
He is survived by seven children: Brent of St. Clairsville; Twyla Krause of Piedmont, SC; Bryan of Kingston, PA; Tyria Moore and Joyce Karchner of Beach Haven, PA; Mike and his wife Marci of Dacula, GA; Tracey and her husband Bryan Downs of Ellwood City, PA; and Regan Moore of Strasburg, OH; six grandchildren: Darath Mackie, Tyler Krause, Erika Roberts, Alexander and Hunter Downs, and Austin Moore; two great grandchildren: Raigan Loudermilk and Brent Mackie, Jr.; and nine siblings: Edith Taylor, Sarah Harbin, Helen Schmelzenbach, Connie Enzweiler, James Moore, Maxine Segarra, Eileen Friede, Suzie Monoksy and Gloria Simpson; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday, September 7 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the First Church of Christ on North Main Street in Cadiz with Paul Giffin officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
