He was born August 12, 1942 in Lock Seventeen , O. and was the son of the late Ernest R. and Mellie Renner Stewart.
In addition to his wife Linda Ann Jones Stewart, whom he married May 29, 1968, and his daughter and son-in-law Tessa and Jon Henry of Lake St. Louis, MO, he is also survived by his brother Jim (Shirley) Stewart of Gnadenhutten, O., twin brother Dale (Kathy) Stewart of Uhrichsville, O., sisters Betty Littleton of Dover, O., Margie Burton of Texas, Mary Devore and Audrey (Richard) Clum, both of Uhrichsville, half-brother Pete of Dublin, O., brother and sister-in-law Joe and Kathy Root of Jersey Shore, PA, four grandsons Kaleb, Nicholas, Luc, and Tanner Henry of Lake Saint Louis, MO, special friends Dale and Kathy Schreiner, Mary Shull, and fishing buddy Dean Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Fred, Gar, Jack, and Bob and a sister Ethel.
He retired in 2008 from the Marlite Company in Dover after 42 years of service. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Korea and Thailand. Dean was an avid fisherman who claimed a special fishing spot at both Tappan Lake and Atwood Lake where he lived. He was also a NASCAR fan and enjoyed going to the races. He was a loving husband and father, and generally a very special man. His family would like to thank Dr. Nagajothi and his staff for the caring and kindness Dean received while he was there, with particular thanks to his nurse Melanie.
In accordance with Dean's wishes, he has been cremated and the family will host a Memorial Celebration of his life on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. near his home in the Sunset Valley Community Center off State Route #542 (Lodge Road). Family and friends are invited to attend and share a memory. The family requests casual attire for those in attendance. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville is handling arrangements.
