A resident of the Twin City area for the past 25 years, Cheryl was a home health caregiver until her own failing health prevented her from continuing. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister who cherished the time that she spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Cheryl is survived by two daughters, Brenda L. Cottrell and her partner, Amy Brooks, of Akron and Connie Bennington of Niagra, New York; granddaughters, Tanesha N. Thomas and her husband, Keith, of Akron, Latasha Lindsey and her husband, David, and Tiffany Rickard and her husband, Arnold; grandsons, Anthony Cottrell of Akron, and Jimmy Bennington and his wife, Nicole; great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Mariah Thomas of Akron; brothers, Timothy Norris and his wife, Linda, of Uhrichsville, Benjamin F. “Frank” Norris, Jr. and his wife, Gail, of Union City, Tennessee, and Fred Norris and his wife, Rhonda, of Indiana; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Norris.
In keeping with Cheryl’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation or service. She will be interred beside her father in Feed Spring Cemetery near Uhrichsville. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 6895 Dover Zoar Rd.
