Born at New Philadelphia on January 19, 1924, Norma was a daughter of the late Louis and Margaret (Springhetti) Vielmetti.
Norma graduated from New Philadelphia High School and worked for Buehler’s as a meat wrapper for more than 27 years; retiring in 1986.
She enjoyed yard work, gardening, working jigsaw, crossword, and word find puzzles as well as being an avid reader. She also looked forward to seeing the wildlife around her house and keeping them well fed.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Sandra Maurer of New Philadelphia; a granddaughter, Tammi (Jeff) Hicks of Strasburg, three great-grandsons, Corey Henderson, Kyle (Amy) Hicks and Steven Hicks; a sister, Rose Dennis of New Philadelphia and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Corey, a grandson, Scott Reiger; a brother, Joe Vielmetti and a sister, Ann Ripley.
A graveside service celebrating Norma’s life will be led by Pastor Max Canfield on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery at Dover.
