ODNR Offers New Antlerless-Only Deer Muzzleloader Hunt

Area hunters are encouraged to participate in a new antlerless only deer muzzleloader season.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says the special two-day hunt will be held this Saturday and Sunday.
John Windau, Division of Wildlife Communications Specialist, says this weekend hunt is a chance for hunters to help manage the state’s deer population.

Windau says they’re not sure how hunters will react to the new season.

In addition to this added antlerless season, Windau says an extra half hour of prime hunting time after sunset was added to all gun seasons this year.

Windau stresses that no hunter, regardless of hunting implement, may harvest a buck during these two days.
