She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bixler in 1975 and by three brothers, Herbert "Bud" Eby, Willard "Bill" Eby and Harold Bernard Eby, who died in infancy.
She is survived by three children, Terry (Ethel) Bixler of Prattville, Ala., Ray (Carol) Bixler of Uniontown and Jeanne (Foster) White of Louisville with whom she had resided the past several years. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Maria (Billy) Caver of Billingsley, Ala., Tonya Bixler of Prattville, Ala., and Mark Bixler of Oklahoma, Heather (Ken) Raber of Hartville, Jason (Sage) Bixler of Vancouver, Wash., Amy (Tully) Borland of Arkadelphia, Ark., Val (Jeff) Thomas of Clinton and Kevin White of Orlando, Fla. She is also survived by 22 great- grandchildren and four great- great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Anne Von Seeger of Panora, Iowa.
She had been a member of the Singing Christians who sang at resthomes in the Carrollton area. She painted the commemorative china plates which were sold at the annual Algonquin Mill festival. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Prayer group for over 30 years and also volunteered as a mentor for some of the elementary classes at Carrollton School. She was an avid Scrabble player and had participated in a number of area tournaments. She worked in the title department of the Carroll County Courthouse for several years and in the Carroll County Health Department until retirement.
Funeral service will be conducted in the Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home in Carrollton, Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Dan Loomis of Carrollton United Methodist Church officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 1 - 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery located on Canyon Road south of Carrollton.
