Betty graduated from Green High School in Haverhill, Ohio. She was a licensed cosmetologist but for nearly all of her adult life she was a homemaker, a devoted wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. She was also a gentle caregiver to relatives and dear friends including Alice Grossniklaus. Betty was a member of Holy Family Parish in Navarre and served the parish through the Holy Family Altar Rosary Society. Her husband and family always came first, but when her time allowed, she indulged her passion for antiques and stopping at garage sales.
Preceded in death by her parents; a son, Stephen D. Fisher; sisters, Mary Fender and Rosemary Stacey, and brothers, Charles Brown and Edward Browne.
Betty is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years, James Robert “Bob” Fisher, and their children, Valerie Jean Walsky, Amy Marie Fisher, Beth Ann Fisher and Brad Fisher, all of the area; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Herbst, of Shoshoni, WY; brothers, Howard (Hazel) Brown, of Franklin Furnace, OH and Harold (Carolyn) Brown, of Frisco,TX and a sister-in-law, Ann Bierbaum, of Orlando, FL.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate a Funeral Mass Friday afternoon at 1:00 P.M. at Holy Family Parish, Navarre Campus. Burial will follow in St. Clement’s Parish Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The family has suggested memorial contributions in Betty’s name made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
