He retired in 1985 after 38 years of service to Nickles Bakery and had attended St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. He loved to spend his free time fishing or out in his garage – said to have been one of the original and most comfortable “man caves” in the village of Navarre! Al also enjoyed making the circuit his favorite Barberton “chicken houses” to savor and compare their fare.
Preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, 5 sisters and his dear wife Merita L. (Smoot) Gue.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Sue Delbrugge, of Navarre; his niece, Gegi Drage, with whom he had resided, also of Navarre; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 18, 2013, at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Navarre. Rev. Elaine Tullis will officiate and burial with military honors will follow in Union Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5-7:00 p.m.
