Salvation Army Kicks Off Red Kettle Campaign

The Salvation Army has kicked off their Red Kettle Campaign for the year.
The bells began ringing on Friday for the Salvation Army’s only fundraiser for the year. The kettles have begun in 6 locations, and will multiply through the holiday season. Lieutenant Scott Duperree of the Salvation Army of Dover and New Philadelphia says the kettle drive is the main source of income for the organization.

Lieutenant Duperree hopes that some extra kettles will help them reach their goal this year.

Money raised from the Red Kettle Campaign will help the Salvation Army during the holidays, such as giving out over 600 food boxes and toys.  Other programs that they offer continue throughout the year.

Donating to the Red Kettle Campaign is easier than ever with online donations accepted. For those who do not have cash at the store, they can go to To volunteer to help with the campaign, call the Salvation Army at 330-364-3811.
