After graduating from Coshocton High School in 1951, Edward attended Ohio Wesleyan University before joining the United States Navy until 1955. On April 28, 1957, Edward married Lois Lenhart, who survives.
Edward was an owner and officer of Excello Fabric Finishers and the Secretary-Treasurer of Buckeye Fabric Finishing Company for over 60 years. Edward was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church where he was active in adult church school and served as an usher for many years. He was a member of Coshocton Shrine Club, and Coshocton Masonic Lodge F&AM #96, along with numerous other Masonic organizations. Edward enjoyed automobiles, traveling, dining, spending time with family and friends, and was a lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He was a big supporter of the Muskingum Valley Council of Boy Scouts of America and a supporter of many other special causes.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, Edward is survived by son Kevin (Ellen) Lee of New Albany; daughter, Lisa (Thomas) Barco of Riverview, Florida; five grandchildren, Maria, James, and Thomas Lee, and Ryan and Kyle Barco; twin brother, Edwin Lee of Coshocton; sister, Elosia Amick of Winston-Salem, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Leon.
The funeral service will be held in the Sanctuary of Grace United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. William McFadden officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens with military honors. Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 pm, and one hour prior to the service in the Parlor of Grace United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 422 Walnut St., Coshocton, Ohio 43812, or any charity of your choice.
