Joanne L. Ramey



Joanne L. Ramey, 66, of Massillon, went home to be with her Lord and Savior just after noon on Monday, December 9, 2013, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.  Born in Hugart, WV, June 18, 1947, Joanne had been an area resident since 1993, and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Canton.  She enjoyed fishing, bowling, and horseshoes, also an avid reader, a great euchre player and she loved to sew.  Her social memberships included VFW Post 3747.

Preceded in death by her mother, Hazel L. Cutlip; her sisters, Pauline and Geraldine, and a son, Virgil Brown; Joanne is survived by her husband, Fletcher Ramey, of the home; daughters, Laura (Mark) McLendon and Lisa Fornash; stepsons, Ron (Caroline) and Rob (Kristin) Ramey; grandchildren, Taylor, Anthony, Sierra, Austin, Zachariah, Johnathon and Logan, and a great-grandson, Steven Christopher; step-grandchildren, Sara, Britany, Shelly, Ryan, Karina, Mary, Isabella and Liliana; and a brother, Robert Cutlip.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 13, 2013, at Fellowship Baptist Church.  Pastor Tom Shank, Jr., of Fellowship Baptist and Pastor Anthony Mayle, of Canton Freewill Baptist Church will officiate.  Burial will follow in Baxter’s Ridge Cemetery in Harrison Twp., Carroll County, OH.  Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8:00 P.M. at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon and one hour prior to services on Friday morning at the church.  The family has suggested memorial contributions in Joanne’s name be made in care of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
