Martha graduated from Canton McKinley High School with the Class of 1937, and attended Muskingum College. She had worked as the office manager for the City of Canton Water Dept. Her adulthood was spent in Massillon where she was an active volunteer at the former Massillon City Hospital, The Massillon Museum and with Meals on Wheels.
Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Arthur P. Underhill; brother Robert and sister-in-law, Lee Quinn and brother-and sister-in-law Francis and Clara Bozzacco.
Martha is survived by her brother, John B. (Gloria) Quinn, of Canton; nieces and nephews, John B. (Jane) Quinn, Jr., of Wyoming, OH, Kathy (David) Findley, of Millersburg, Thomas J. Quinn, of Canton, Barbara (John) Dvorschak, of Manasquan, NJ, Paul (Vickie) Quinn, of Brick, NJ, and Martha Ann Quinn, also of Manasquan, Sue (Mike) Saracina and Paula Bozzacco, all of Massillon, James (Ginny) Bozzacco, of Dublin, and Nancy (Tim) Manion, of Wadsworth; as well as several great-nieces and -nephews.
Family and friends will gather at John Knox Presbyterian Church in Canton, for a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013. Pastor Tom Houston will officiate.
Martha had been a resident of Windsor Medical Center since 2008, and was pleased to call it her home. The family wishes to express their thanks to the dedicated staff for their friendship and their expert and compassionate care. They have further suggested memorial contributions in Martha’s name be made in care of The Massillon Museum, 121 Lincoln Way East, Massillon, OH 44646.
