For the 17th year, Tuscora Park will be lit up with Christmas lights and holiday activities this weekend with Christmas in the Park.
Jan McInturf with McInturf Realty says he was inspired to start the annual tradition when he visited Cincinnati Zoo and saw how they celebrated the season.
Besides improving efficiency of the event, McInturf says not much has changed this year. He says the park will be filled with activities that families can enjoy, such as ice sculpting, pony rides, carriage rides, live reindeer, rides on the carousel, train and planes, and more. A variety of music will be featured as well.
Families can enjoy Christmas in the Park for free, except for the hot dogs.
McInturf says comments made throughout the year from the community in appreciation of the event make it worthwhile to continue every year.
Christmas in the Park will take place this Sunday from 4 pm to 8pm at Tuscora Park in New Philadelphia.
