Joshua A. Myer

Joshua A. Myer, age 19, of Flushing, formerly of the Scio area, died tragically Saturday December 28, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born February 11, 1994 in Steubenville he was a son of Charlotte D. Kimble of Dennison and Jeffrey (Mandy) Myer, Sr. of Flushing. Josh attended Harrison Central and transferred to Belmont-Harrison JVS where he graduated in 2012 completing the machine trades program. He was a former employee of Courtney Construction in Kilgore.

Josh loved camping, hunting and fishing. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed country and rock music.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his siblings Jeffrey (Jena) Myer, Jr. of Bowerston, Bryan Fox of New Athens, Amber (Andy) Bowersock of Dennison, Crystal (David) Mills of Mooresville, IN, Brad Foster of Sherrodsville, and Kim and Kyle Race and Justin Myer all of Flushing; grandparents Remah (Floyd) Burdette of Scio, Tod Sowards, Barbie Foster and Mark and Joanie Foster; aunts and uncles Gary (Sarah) Myer of Scio, Richard Kimble of CA, Ben (Esther) Reardon and Fred Kimble, Jr., Harold (Chris) Kimble, and Francis Kimble all of Scio, Eric and Gary Burdette of Dover, Jake (Patty) Moore, Josie Myer of New Philadelphia and Carol (Kenny) Rogers, Bev (Len) Statler and Kenny (Dixie) Hendricks all of Scio; his girlfriend Shannon Heckert of Follansbee; nine nieces and nephews and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Robert Myer; grandparents Fred Hamilton Kimble and Dessie Mae Powell; great grandparents Kenny and Nellie Hendricks; aunts Ellen and Janet Dotson and uncles Paul Myer, Cliff Kimble and Luke Foster.

Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with Pastor Dixie Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Hanover Cemetery, Scio. Friends may call Thursday from 12-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Koch Funeral Home, Box 193, Scio 43988 to help with funeral expenses.
