He worked in furniture manufacturing, was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and was Ordained Deacon in 1988.
He is survived by his wife, the former Susan Wengerd, whom he married November 9, 1976, his 4 daughters Rosanna (Sam) Yoder of Millersburg, Iva (Raymond) Yoder of Fresno, Louella (Andy) Erb and Nora (Stephen) Miller both of Coshocton, his 6 sons Emanuel (Erma) Nisley, Raymond (Erma) Nisley, David Jr. (Wilma) Nisley and Levi (Clara) Nisley all of Millersburg, Mose (Alma) Nisley of Coshocton and Abner Nisley of the home, 18 grandchildren, 3 brothers Alton (Nora) Nisley of Dundee, Owen (Elsie) Nisley of Gravel Switch, KY, Paul (Rebecca) NIsley of Baltic and 2 sisters Emma Ruth (Henry) Troyer of Baltic and Verna (Albert) Yoder of Millersburg.
In addition to his mother Mary Nisley, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Mose and Nora Mae Wengerd, 1 nephew and 2 nieces.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 9:00 AM at the Nisley Residence with Bishop John Yoder Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Raber Cemetery in Mechanic Twp., Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the Nisley Residence. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
