Katherine L. Lemert, 97, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia after a period of declining health. Born November 25, 1916 in Findlay, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Amos David Thomas and Retha (Martin) Thomas Cherrington. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Noel Baughman who died while serving his country in World War II; her second husband, William Lemert who died in 1972; a son, John Lemert; and a sister, Lyoma Roseberry.
 
Katie is survived by her sons, David Baughman of Uhrichsville and Ronald (Suzette) Baughman of Delaware; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Dave O’Hara of Dennison; a brother, Max Cherrington of Naples, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. A resident of the Twin City area for nearly 50 years, Katie was very proud to have been one of the first residents of the Buckeye House in Uhrichsville when it was renovated to become senior living apartments.
 
In keeping with Katie’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation or service. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH  44663.
