Molly J. Best Baker, 49, a lifelong resident of Uhrichsville, went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2014. The only daughter of Ross F. and Sherry L. (Beach) Best of Uhrichsville, she was born on November 22, 1964 in Germany while her father served his country in the Army.
Molly married her high school sweetheart, Richard L. Baker, on November 3, 1984 with whom she raised 4 children who survive her, Sherry L. (James Hart) Dietrick of Uhrichsville, David R. Dietrick of Tippecanoe, Amy L. (Jimmy Ray) Baker of Magnolia, and Richard L. (Brooke Manbeck) Baker, Jr. of Uhrichsville. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Destine Dietrich of the home of whom Molly and Rich have custody, Luka Marini, Gavin Hart, Jaden Hart, Falisha Cottrell, Gregory Cottrell, Molly Richmond, MaKenzie Baker, Crystal Baker, and Addison Nalley; 4 brothers, Christopher Best and Ross F. Best of Uhrichsville, David (Teresa) Best of Dennison, and Bryan (Stacey) Best of Florida; an aunt and uncle to whom she was especially close, Betty and Harold Romig of Tippecanoe with whom her paternal grandmother of 93, Helen Brown, resides; and another special uncle, Jack Best of Dennison; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Don (Carrie) Baker of Dennison, Gayle (Roy) Hines of Tippecanoe, and Melody (Mike Stringer) Williams of Uhrichsville; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family members.
Molly was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved caring for her family and had also worked for 5 years at the former Ross’ Market Basket in Uhrichsville. She loved art and being surrounded by nature, enjoying spending time outdoors and fishing whenever she had the chance.
Services for Molly will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Rush Church Cemetery near Uhrichsville. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
