Her lifetime was devoted to serving, praying for, and befriending children. Whether she made a warm blanket for a child, or was teaching them about her Lord and Savior at Sunday School or Bible School, she had a warm smile and loving heart for each child she was blessed to encounter. Her faith was nurtured through her devotion and love to her Lord.
Evelyn was honored to be an escort on the Queen’s Court at the Strawberry Festival in Bolivar. She also won the 1933 County Spelling Bee.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by her children including Marlene (Doran) Gordon of Dover, Carol (Dave) Lear of North Canton, Kay (Bill) Huth of Bolivar, Paul (Marie) Harvey of Missouri, and Dick (Linda) Harvey of Bolivar; her daughter-in-law, Virginia Harvey of the Philippines; her brother-in-law, Howard (Lucy) Johnson of Massillon; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
